About this deal

But the attraction though. The pining, the ✨️ache✨️. Very well-done. Sadly, the parts that I really enjoyed would probably come down to 25% of the whole thing, which is why this is only 2 stars for me. The statement comes from my dear mum and if something suits her hypersensitive nose, it is more than just a knighthood for a perfume. In this case, however, it was not wanted or bought. First of all, I wanted my Kurkdjian at all costs (if the corresponding online shop would finally keep its promises) and secondly, in the case of "Portraits - Much Ado About the Duke", the price is also the price. I can't create such an expensive wish list in good conscience. At some point, it's just over and besides, I already have a first-class rose in my collection. Most of the focus around the couple and joining forces for women’s rights (no mystery/villain focus) There’s a scene at the theater where the duke watches the play with her family. He is thinking of her and does something so simple – plans how to move so it would seem inconsequential, accidental...and barely brushes his hand on hers by moving his leg. And waits for her to notice and is so disappointed that she doesn’t. Of course she doesn’t. But then, a brush of fingers against his sets his heart racing. I just love, love scenes like this. This is what I remember many (many) years ago of having butterflies with my husband. The uncertainty and how every look and touch is analyzed and worried over, making you breathless. There was lovely pining from the hero though, as I said. And the scenes where he is helping her learn to box were adorable.

Rose as heart note (exception: Much Ado About The Duke from Penhaligon's, I was just in London at the time of the idea) In general, I perceive no great development in the fragrance. (Which is very right for me, because I do not want to give any of its shares so really) After the more intense and spicy-fresh prelude, it becomes a bit more subdued. From the start, there's something comfortingly warm about it, which perhaps increases a bit as it progresses, while a green, citrusy freshness lingers until the end. If you want, you can associate quite a bit into it, which probably fits the whole gin idea. (I'm more of a whiskey guy, and there's a lot you can associate into it, after all!) At times I think kitchen spices - coriander? Herbs de Provence? - sometimes I think warm-moist spring leaves, sometimes maybe actually pepper, sometimes almost fruity - and at the core: juniper. --schmacht--I was giggling a lot in the beginnig because she had not chill with him slaying him with words and he was just internally singing her praises. She had him wrapped around her fingers from the start and she didn't know it. Then the second half of chapter 3, Lady Beatrice and the duke danced while having the most stilted, boring conversation full of overdramatized reactions and emotions. After that, it was over for me. Marriage of convenience/necessity heroine loses her fortune and the hero volunteers to marry her so she can have independence and continue her good works

A clever touch is the TV screens above the stage, allowing the audience to read all the amusing social media responses to the tension and drama happening in the villa. It’s both surprising and fascinating how well the world of Shakespeare lends itself to being transformed into a reality TV show: monologues are delivered in the form of confessionals, and the Friar is a glamorous TV presenter, who navigates through it all offering advice and bizarre solutions. If the original play is all about deception, this adaptation takes it one step further: it shows the artifice, the magus behind the wall, the puppeteer who pulls the strings. Why is he so beautiful??? Oh nooooo I did not plan for this (no other duke has a chest as broad and forearms as sexy) (woe is me but also whoa there he can get it..I literally said hi to him and he fell off his horse into a lake and now I can see that very broad chest through his very thin shirt and…now we’re both wet) (great, just great). I was not impressed that Beatrice was such a staunch defender of women and seemed so educated about everything that she could be – I just felt like the fact that she had never touched her own body and doesn’t even know what an orgasm is to be a bit unbelievable in this particular story. I think it would have fit her character a bit better if she had at least explored her own body (I get not being to achieve orgasm but to know NOTHING...) Perfumer: Alberto Morillas; listed notes of ambergris (Ambrox), fougère accord, brandy (or rum, depending on the info source), shaving soap and tonka bean.

The fragrance gives partly floral, woody, warm but also then again chilled sequences (just like gin on ice) of itself - really saugeil. The longer the fragrance is on the skin, the more he becomes one with the wearer - at a good arm's length almost beguiling.

One of my favorite things in historical romance is a band of brothers (either found or family) who aren’t afraid to tell the hero he’s being a fool in love, especially if the hero claims he doesn’t believe in that little thing called love. So much scoffing! So many knowing looks! We even got boxing (aka punching out (or in) our feelings time)! Ben and Kit, and their camaraderie with Will, were a fabulous addition to the story. There were just so many good scenes between them. Give me a drunk scene any day of the week and I’m yours forever. And I can’t forget their relationship with Beatrice… If you’re a Shakespeare fan, particularly Much Ado About Nothing (I do hope you saw that one coming lol), there are plenty of references. I also loved the Ancient Greek mentions and the flow of the narrative. I was immediately hooked and read the book super fast because I never wanted to leave them. Gee, Max. That smells really good today and that is discreet - really pleasant! Couldn't you wish for this scent for your birthday instead of this sweet APOM thingamajig?" Slight differences in nuances I perceive when I compare the fragrance on my skin and on that of my husband. Sometimes a bit heavier and warmer, sometimes a touch more sweetness... Overall, however, almost identical.
