About this deal

Conclusively, the capabilities of this small amp head are worthy of some great praise because it is almost impossible to instill such great sounds in such a small-sized amp that you can fit even in the smallest of your gig bags. With a combo amp, or a combo (in which the speaker unit and the amplifier are one), all you need to do is connect it with a guitar and start your music. Apart from the tiny portable size, another good thing about the Orange Micro Terror is that it is incredibly easy to use. I can guarantee with the display style the Orange company offers you, you can never go wrong while using it. The Micro Dark is aimed more at those looking for metal tones. But I think it’s a little deceptive as the Micro Dark has an effects loop, a better clean tone and more effective tone control. I modified my Fender Mustang 1 amp so that I could connect its speaker to the PPC108 cab and now the amp sounds even better! The sounds seems more rounded and complete somehow, so I recommend running it with two 8'' speakers if you can to get the perfect Orange sound.

The Crush series of amps are all solid state and small combos in comparison to the hybrid head Micro Terror. At the smaller end of the scale they’re very much aimed at the low volume, small practice amp market. (Although the CR60 is actually far more than just a “practice amp”) The magnificent amp head weighs under 1 kilogram and is the most portable amp head you will see on the market. This thirst for a unique logo that rapidly reminds people of the company led Cliff Cooper to name his corporation as the Orange. Tube vs solid-state? What’s the difference between them anyway? It would be best to do your homework when finding the suitable guitar amp for your […] You have to pay a bit extra but it’s not a huge difference. Is it worth it? That probably depends on what you need or want.

Additional Media

Ever wondered how is the Orange Micro Dark so incredibly small and still does a wonderful job? Well, that’s because it is dependent upon an external source of power.

Here is a video on the Micro Terror from Orange, where Doug Doppler demos the amp played clean, with the gain turned up, and with an Analog Man ARDX20 delay pedal. A much-needed headphone output is provided on the front panel too, which offers the company’s original CabSim speaker emulation. Usage and Features

What Makes Our Sales Engineers Great?

Despite its incredibly compact size, this is an amp that's most at home on stage or in a soundproof studio. It just sounds better with the volume working harder and the headphone output is a little harsh for sustained solo practice sessions. Now that we have covered most of the basics of the conversation we are heading into let’s look at some of the more specific information.

It does not have a lot of knobs or potentiometers, which makes navigating the buttons and understanding the usage of the head more convenient. Everything feels strong though. I doubt either the cab or head are going to fall apart and even if you treat them fairly badly they’ll probably hold up. I don’t treat my gear with kid gloves and I’ve had no issues with the build quality or durability of them. Orange PPC108 1×8 Speaker Cabinet Features Keeping the gain fairly low and running a Tele through it with single coils gives a wonderful breakup tone. It’s notI began playing somewhat late compared to a lot of people. I was 15 years old as it had taken me a while to find the confidence to believe in myself and take that step to learn to play an instrument. It started my lifelong love of music and playing in general. Since then like so many before me I've become an addict and gone through more guitars, amps and gear than I care to remember. In terms of cons, the tone control is fairly basic , and only allows a certain level of tone shaping, but it does have a good range. In general, I keep it set between 11am and 1pm and find that going outside of this leads to very dark and muddy or ear-piercingly bright. If you haven’t had the chance to see this amp head in person, you can see it in the pictures where it is placed on top of the Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface. This will give you a perfect idea as to how tiny this amp head really is. If you want to take a closer look at the inside construction of the Orange Micro Terror, the easiest thing to do is to simply unscrew the top, and you will be able to lift the upper body up. Doing this exposes the valve dome. First of all, and most importantly, there is no effects loop! This is the amp’s biggest limitation, in my opinion. An effects loop would have made this unit totally awesome.
