I’ve been listening to Isabella Dorta’s poems on TikTok for a while now so I was very excited to get my hands on this book.I bought this book after seeing the author pop up on my TikTok FYP a couple times reading some of her poems.

I figure this is a self-published author, so I am more understanding of some of these oversights, but I think this would have easily been 5 stars with the help of an editor, or at least a few more people to run through the work with a critical eye. Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure. years in the making, ‘how sunflowers bloom under moonlight’ is the story of isabella’s journey through love, heartbreak and everything in between.This was a surprise I actually almost given up on reading modern poetry because a lot of it’s just really bad or Instagram or Hallmark card But this actually had a lot of thought and a lot of feeling but into it it does hit on some very hard-hitting topics so I don’t think this is gonna be for everybody but if you’re looking for a good new poetry book this is a good place to start not every poem is a slam dunk but I’d have to say this makes me still want to read Moner poetry.
