I don't think Russ Meyer was really trying to say anything with this film - there's a slight hint of a point stemming from the idea of "Smalltown, USA is a normal small town, but look what goes on behind closed doors! That's the only true plot thread--which is more than some Meyer movies have--and we follow him as both he and his wife try to "heal" him of this great psychological handicap.

Almost 20 years after his passing, I heard that the Arrowhead Drive house was still owned by Russ’ estate, though it had sat empty and neglected since his death. Among them are the huge-breasted evangelical radio preacher Eufaula Roop (Ann Marie) who mounts Martin Bormann inside a coffin; a salesman and a large-breasted housewife (Candy Samples); and Junkyard Sal (June Mack) who has sex with her working-class employees. This was the perfect gift for my Old Man who likes old films and big breasts and it made his day when he got this. Levonna and Lamar could have the perfect relationship if it were not Lamar's obsession with rear entry. Currently you are able to watch "Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens" streaming on Plex for free.I’d heard the stories of manipulation and neglect from some who’d been close to Russ, and Janice was frequently painted as the villain. I do believe that Russ had the Sex Pistols to stay in that house back in the day too, perhaps they didn’t get the guest accommodations!

In truth, that’s all the house was: a film studio hangar combined with a personal shrine, crammed with film making equipment, such as his revered editing machine and boxes of artifacts. A screwball adult sex comedy the lots of simulated screwing is the best way to describe Russ Meyer’s “Beneath The Valley of the Ultra Vixens”. The movie is based in a small town USA and centers around the married couple of Lammar and Levonna and the sexual frustration of Levonna, here on in ensues a fantastic comedy soft porn romp in which the couple meet various colourful charactors along the journey to help cure Lammar's bedroom leanings, ending up in the fantastic 'Church of Rio Dio Radio' where in lies Eufaula Roop, who has to be seen to be believed.The single greatest thing about this picture, though, is the phenomenal narration by Stuart Lancaster, written with Meyer's signature verbosity (aided in great part, I think, by Roger Ebert's screenwriting). Was there any news about Russ’ films, and whether they would be made available more widely, perhaps on BluRay, perhaps in film festivals? This movie was not the best recived Meyers movie at the time of release however its safe to say that it has now gained cult status and if you are new to Meyers films I would recommend this movie along with Supervixens! Now, it all looks rather tame; when compared with some of the 'nasty' material around today, There was a degree of 'innocence' with Russ Meyer's style. Lamar goes to a bar, where Lavonia masks herself as Mexican stripper Lola Langusta and drugs his drink.

In a motel room, Lavonia rapes the unconscious Lamar — by first triggering an erection via fellation, and then by finally having vaginal sex with him using a sock as contraception. We see a lot of a few other women, too, including a melon-breasted Christian radio announcer, and, rather unfortunately, a junk yard proprietor (you'll understand when you see her). Lamar lies inside a water-filled bathtub as a robe wearing Eufaula Roop stands above him and baptizes (and almost drowns) him.

The auction was over in minutes and a few weeks later, together with a selection of editing splicers, analog light meters, memorabilia, photographs, and intriguingly, several reels of undeveloped film, it was delivered to my Brooklyn home. They had several distinguishing features: for one, Russ was an independent auteur, directing, producing, writing, and shooting almost every one of his movies. After a while, she lets Lamar have anal sex with her and gives in when a suddenly enthusiastic Lamar stops her from continuing into other positions. Meyer meticulously documented and saved almost everything – including the rights to most of his films – and it’s a travesty that all that stuff was just sold off (though I’m glad Ashley was able to snag the fabled editing machine).
