I don't usually enjoy second chance romances as much as other tropes but this one was done really well. Son of the family who own the school, Crew's life seems easy - but with an overbearing father and high expectations, it's anything but. Type: l'Il Always Be With You is part of the Lancaster Prep series, but can be read as a standalone. I’m convinced that I’ll never get bored of the Lancaster universe, I just love the whole old money, prep school aesthetic! It was nice to see them talk things out maturely, with West taking responsibility for his mistakes and making amends.

Overall I thought the book had a great pace to it and there always seemed to be something happening to keep my attention. I didn’t particularly warm to either of them as I felt West was too full of himself and Caroline was too standoffish.Just like Carolina, he had his own deep secrets and made plenty of mistakes that frustrated me, but everyone has flaws, right? This man is a walking red flag 🚩🚩🚩 He was only 18 when he left, but I don’t think that can excuse him being a total dick. Firstly I thought that the author created the perfect setting in this slow burn romance and I enjoyed experiencing Lancaster Prep alongside the characters. Carolina was cold, brusqe and closed off but the vulnerability in her POV made her so endearing to me. This is my second favorite of the series of standalones, so close to knocking off whit and summer, but I love my heroes to have a bit more of a bite.

This time, they both hated each other as he believed she had already forgotten the time they had spent together. Their story will take you from the streets of Paris to Lancaster Prep to the ballet theatre in London, and back to Manhattan. I seriously couldn’t get enough of Carolina and West, I fell in love with them from the first chapter! While I did find the author's attempt at making the H a bully type character confusing and a little cringey at times, I did enjoy the silly high school peer and relationship drama.I know it's bad when I'm around 3/4 way through the book, and honestly couldn't have given two hoots if they ended up together.
