Do not be put off by the legacy element of Zombie Kidz Evolution. Hours, upon hours of family fun can be had with this superb board game that has been a massive hit with our three boys. We really do recommend it! Zombie Kidz Evolution brings all the excitement of a legacy game to a family friend co-op. Opening the box you will find a series of sealed numbered envelopes, which you will be tempted to open straight away. Resist your urges though as these envelopes contain gameplay elements that you will earn the more you play. Best of all this legacy game is totally playable at the end - no destroying any components here! During Pandemic time in 2020, my kids lost a lot of activities and I tried hard to find something to keep them busy and entertained. This game is a great help! My 6 year old and 8 year old were able to play together independently without fighting! So some of the highlights of the game that me and my kids like about: A lot of the actions and mechanics are similar to Kidz but changed enough to make Teenz a distinct experience.
Zombie Kidz: Evolution Review - Tabletop Gaming
On their turn a player must first roll a custom die which determines where a new zombie is placed onto the board. The die has 6 differently colored faces (red, green, blue, purple, yellow, and white). Roll anything other than white and you must place the next zombie in line onto that colored space, roll a white and you’re spared for that turn; a one in 6 chance of a temporary retrieve from the horde waiting just outside. The first envelope, opened on step 5 gives one of the heroes a power, but also speeds up zombie arrivals. The third envelope is where things get interesting, as one of the zombie types upgrades, which brings a real challenge to the players. There are spoilers in the next image gallery, so we've made the images slightly smaller than normal if you wish to skip past them. Each turn, you roll to see what the zombies do. If the die lands on a colour, the corresponding horde may spawn, or move towards a building. If it lands on a question mark, you read an Event Card.

If a horde reaches a building, that building is overrun and the zombies build a trampoline. They can use this trampoline to overrun the next building if they move again before you defeat them. Theme of zoombies (teacher and school) is very attractive, kids have fun looking at pictures of all zoombies evolved from teachers; Gameplay doesn't get much simpler than Zombie Dice, which consists of one cup and 13 dice. Players take turns rolling three random dice from the cup, trying to eat as many brains as possible while avoiding shotgun blasts - the zombies' natural predator.

City of Horror is a survival game where players desperately negotiate to save their survivors and gather the precious vaccines scattered around the map. Each player is dealt several survivors and, unlike the typical zombie-killing heroes of other zombie games, these are just everyday people. And they'll get eaten. A lot. The player can move their character to an adjacent board space (if a board space contains 3 or more zombies, they cannot move there) Zombie Teenz Evolution is the sequel to Zombie Kidz Evolution (#1 Kids' Game on BGG). It is a standalone game with a different set of rules, so you don’t need to have played the first game to jump into the second. The rules are slightly more advanced and will require a little more strategic thinking. Most zombie stories end with the survivors escaping their current predicament into a hopefully brighter future somewhere else. Hit Z Road dares to continue the story on the road - specifically a cross-country road trip across the undead-infested Route 66 in the United States. Road trip! Last Night on Earth's tactical combat, multiple scenarios and hero survival has been replicated many times over the decade-plus since its release (including by some of the games on this list), but what keeps it shelf-worthy is its endearingly self-aware theme that focuses on cheesy fun over brains.
In short, the designer and Iello Games took a fun experience and made it even better. Zombie Kidz Evolution boasts higher-quality artwork, pumped-up colors, better quality components, and the best gaming experience I’ve ever had with my kids. My Thoughts and Some (signposted) Minor Spoilers
Zombie Kidz Evolution Review - Board Game Review
Hit Z Road offers a starkly different gameplay experience compared to most zombie games. Every round players bid on which route they wish to take from a selection of cards that have much-needed resources - and oft-avoided zombie hordes. Ammo can be used to shoot zombies with little risk, while adrenaline is needed to avoid getting your passengers killed in the middle of a big fight.

City of Horror Beg your friends to let you live, then leave them to die In City of Horror, your friends can be just as deadly as the undead. Learn to Play: This takes 20 minutes to learn. The base game is quite simple to learn, but understanding the game-to-game progression and how the legacy aspect of the game works, takes a little longer. We have played Pandemic Legacy and Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle, and those games we followed the rules. This game is simple enough that making it progress faster is just best for us.

The legacy element of Zombie Kidz Evolution is very well done. The rules changes and zombie evolutions fit right in, building up the complexity of the game, along with the challenge. What starts out as a straight-forward puzzle gets challenging and more varied through-out the games. Overall, an outstanding co-op legacy game for my kids (6 and 8), not sure if teenagers will like it, since the rules are very simple. Zombicide The ultimate zombie adventure RPG-in-a-box Zombicide is among the biggest and best zombie board games going, offering an RPG-like campaign across multiple scenarios. Zombie Teenz is a game that evolves, like its predecessor, Zombie Kidz. These two games are different and independent, but compatible.
