I enjoyed it but found the narrative that “Sophie’s not like other girls” a little repetitive, so I gave it 4/5 stars. I broke my biggest rule, unwillingly adding a new item to my list while shattering my heart—and friendship—in the process. Liam discovers her list and offers to help her check the items off, he even adds go on a date with a bad boy after he wins a bet they made, except Sophie wants to just be friends and he reluctantly agrees. I enjoyed the 60% of the book so much because Sophie and Liam were friends and all the tension and lust made everything hot and all but the moment they give in to this sexual tension between them and became friends with benefits I kinda lost my interest in the story. it didn't even make sense because he'd just start being extremely overdramatic and he never made it past the 2nd stage of grief because he needs to be a troubled bad boy because GOD FORBID ONE OF THE PEOPLE IN THESE SHITTY ROMANCE BOOKS NOT HAVE SOME UNNECESSARY, BADLY WRITTEN PAST TRAUMA.

truly, if a man ever told me he’d wreck me for the person after him because i belong to him he would go missing that day and never to be found again. he made such a big deal over her death, i mean, even his brother reconciled himself to the fact that she was dead, but NOOOO liam just needs to be sad and miserable and broken doesn't he? Truthfully, it's just disappointing because as I stated in my Throttled review, this series has a lot of hype and really only good things being said about it.

They had chemistry and everything between them but Liam thinks he is not made for "Love" so they ignored all the attraction between them, tiptoed that fine line between friendship and lust and became "only friends". The thing about being the nice guy is how no one sees how corroded my heart is—how it leaks acid like an old car battery.It was one of those books where you root for the main character and they make you so mad, you question if rooting for them is worth it.

Did I just read like 500 pages of a girl begging her guy best friend to show any sign that he cares about her whatsoever while he tells her "I can't do that because I hate feelings but I really want to fuck you" and then when she's like "you've broken my heart" he's like "no don't say that I told you I wasn't going to fall in love with you so that's on you. This book goes alongside Throttled , the timelines interweaving with one another, and whilst it is a standalone, it’s interconnected with the other books, so I recommend reading Throttled first.
