About this deal

Konstam’s book is one of a series, and if your curiosity is about a different sort of castle it’s worth checking it out.

A prehistoric theater district for a hundred thousand spectators on the American continent and underground towns and villages (complete with schools, offices, and factories) inhabited by millions of people are among the unexpected phenomena he brings to light. Make your way step-by-step through a 14th-century medieval castle, and see how the lives of residents unfolded inside. Find out exactly what goes on inside a medieval castle in this impeccably stylish picture book from the National Trust. In a land that reveres swords and worships strength, this accidental heroism earns Inge an audience at court and an ill-fated prize: King Halvard impulsively adopts her and names her as his heir. I found this a very engaging read for the layperson with an interest in history-- or in reported hauntings.Neighboring Fort McClellan has brought the world to their doorstep in the form of young soldiers from all over the country and German POWs from halfway around the globe. The only time Cordelia feels truly free is when she turns into a dragonfly or a blackbird and can fly beyond the great stone walls.

There were several castles that I had never heard of, with interesting vignettes to whet my appetite for new locations to visit on my next trip to England, If historical architecture is an interest to you, I highly recommend this book. K versucht nun, zum Schloss vorzudringen, welches als undurchschaubarer, bürokratischer Verwaltungsapparat das Leben des Dorfes regelt. It is fabulously illustrated with photographs combined with artwork and computer graphics that recreate what living in a castle was really like. Please also add your suggestions of recommended books on castles and knights that you have tried and tested in your educational setting and help each other to find the perfect books for topics! It's amazing to think that there are approximately 4,000 castles of one sort or another dotted about England. A perfect support to learning about history at Key Stage 1, each book uses a rich variety of historical sources, from diaries to paintings, to bring events to life, while simple historical vocabulary is introduced and explained. Part of the Macmillan Collector's Library; a series of stunning, clothbound, pocket sized classics with gold foiled edges and ribbon markers.
