About this deal

Language development: Can help boost early language development due to hearing words being spoken, observing facial expressions, and being part of the conversation. Second, make sure you have all the materials you need before you start. This includes things like fabric, thread, and a sewing machine. If you’re not sure what you need, ask someone at your local fabric store for help. If you’re interested in trying out the Baby K’tan, there’s no need to buy one. You can easily make your own at home with just a few yards of cloth. Remember that the best thing about the Baby K’tan is that you don’t have to adjust it, and the worst thing about it is that you can’t adjust it. Two people of different sizes (like Joshua and me) can’t share the same carrier. A sling, wrap or baby carrier takes up a lot less space than a stroller, no matter how small they fold up. Slings and wraps also usually fit comfortably in a diaper bag so it is always near if you need it.

Research has also shown a decrease in babies crying when mothers carried their babies on their chests, leading to a more relaxed environment for everyone and it is believed that Kangaroo Care can aid successful breastfeeding. 2. Babies in slings, wraps or carriers tend to learn more

Notes about the Baby K’tan

Sizing is the most important aspect of getting a Baby K’tan. Be sure to read their sizing info here. For reference, I wear a size 20 or 22 so I got an XL. It’s a bit big, though, and I wish I’d gotten a Large. I have huge boobs, which may be what throws off my sizing. If I didn’t have 42G boobs, maybe I’d wear a 16 or 18 shirt/dress, which would put me in range of a Large Baby K’tan. You can wash your Baby K’tan to tighten it up a bit, but if it doesn’t fit well out of the box, return it for another size. When you put your baby in it, it should feel very snug, because the fabric is going to loosen up as you wear it. The looser it is, the harder it will be on your body to carry the weight and the less safe it becomes for your baby. Bottom Line The Baby K’tan is not one-size-fits-all, like the Moby, Solly, or Boba. This is because it is already pre-wrapped for you, except for the front panel. Pillows can be a suffocation hazard for babies. If you’re using a K’tan, skip the pillows and just use a firm mattress. I find this type of wrap is way easier when you are going out and about. If you are trying to wrap using a regular wrap like a Boba, there is so much fabric that when you get out of the car, the fabric can pool on the ground and easily get dirty or muddy.

Each position was also carefully researched to allow for healthy infant development every step of the way (e.g. baby’s legs and hips). Baby K’tan Original Material As a parent, you want to do everything you can to keep your baby safe. That includes using the right car seat, installing safety gates, and using the proper safety gear when you’re out and about. But what about when you’re at home? Carrying your baby in a wrap mimics Kangaroo Care and although you and your little one will probably not be bare all of the time, many of the benefits still apply. Baby K’tan also offers a range of different carriers to suit each and every parent’s individual needs: Baby K’tan Original, Baby K’tan PINK RIBBON that supports breast cancer awareness, Baby K’tan Active, Baby K’tan Breeze for very hot climates, Baby K’tan Organic, and Baby K’tan Print. Baby K’tan Alternatives The big selling point of the Baby K’tan is that you get a wrap-style carrier (like the Moby) without having to do all the complicated wrapping.

What is baby-wearing?

After experimenting a little with the Baby K’tan Original Baby Carrier, it is easy to see why this baby carrier is so popular amongst parents. Baby K’tan took many variables into consideration including different sizes, colors, baby’s position, and even gender when designing the Original Baby Carrier. It’s a 3-in-1 carrier with 6 different positions If you’re considering making your own baby carrier, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, make sure you choose a pattern that’s right for your skill level. If you’re a beginner, you may want to start with a simpler pattern. And if you’re more experienced, you can look for patterns that offer more challenging features. Learn how to use a Baby K’tan wrap as an easy baby-wearing solution – for newborns as well as older babies. I will show you how to use one with my two-month-old baby. Make sure the K’tan is in good condition and that all the seams are intact. If you notice any rips or tears, replace the K’tan immediately.

The Baby K’tan is perfect for those who are new to baby-wearing and are intimidated by standard wraps with heaps of fabric. After all, what good is a baby carrier if it is close to impossible to get your baby into the carrier without upsetting them? It is also very compact, easy to keep clean, and durable. Baby K’tan Baby Carrier range: The Baby K’tan ORGANIC Cotton Baby Carriers are made of a 100% GOTS certified organic cotton with unique one-way stretch. This environmentally-friendly carrier is made of a soft natural fabric that will give you and your little one a warm and cozy hold. You can always wrap the material a few times around the baby but if it is very hot, it might cause both you and the baby to sweat. It’s also a little more challenging to put the wrap on due to the lengthy material. The Baby K'tan BREEZE Baby Carriers are made of 100% cotton - with jersey knit cotton on one half of the loops and a unique cotton-mesh on the other half of the loops. This cotton-mesh construction allows for added airflow. This is a great option for people who want a more breathable carrier with a natural fabric.

The MOBY Wrap Cotton Baby Carrier is a great alternative to the Baby K’tan Original Baby Carrier and probably one of its biggest competitors. Considering the information, the Baby K’tan might be a little more practical to use but it will only fit one size whereas the MOBY Wrap has a great variety of colors and can be used by anyone else. In the end, it is all about what your personal needs are. Finally, take your time and enjoy the process. Making your own baby carrier can be a lot of work, but it’s also a lot of fun. And when you’re finished, you’ll have a carrier that you and your baby will love. Materials Needed for DIY Baby K’Tan My Baby K’tan isn’t going to replace my Moby as my general powerhouse carrier, but I’ve been wearing the Moby for years and am not at all bothered by having to wrap it. Surprisingly, Baby K’tan is going to replace using my Maya Wrap for side carries!
